HOW TO PROPERLY CHOOSE PEDALS FOR YOUR STRAPS?

For any bike, especially a fixed gear, and particularly when using straps, it's crucial to choose suitable pedals.

Here are some recommendations on how to select the right ones:

Platform Pedals: Platform pedals are ideal for fixed gear bicycles. They provide a wide surface for support and ensure a secure grip even under high loads. It's important for the pedals to have cross-holes for strap installation. The holes should be of standard size, 20mm in width, 3-4mm in height. Many pedals have these holes; below is a photo example of how they should look.

BMX Pedals: BMX pedals are often preferred for fixed gear bicycles due to their sturdy construction and ability to withstand intensive use. Like platform pedals, it's crucial for BMX pedals to have cross-holes for strap installation.

Strap Holes: When choosing pedals, ensure they have holes for strap attachment. This ensures a stable connection between the foot and the pedal, especially important for fixed gears. Pep and Strap offer reliable and comfortable fastening. They are adjustable in width, extremely dependable, and maintain the shape of your foot even when not strapped in, allowing you to easily secure your foot in the pedal within seconds.

Adjustability: All Pep and Strap models provide the option to adjust strap tension. This is highly useful for fine-tuning the level of retention and comfort during rides. Such adjustment is possible on all pedals with the mentioned cross-holes.

Examples of suitable pedals for fixed gear bicycles include BMX pedals from manufacturers such as Odyssey, Wellgo, and MKS, compatible with Pep and Strap. It's also crucial to ensure that the pedals have the quality and durability to withstand the constant tension characteristic of fixed gear riding.
